Fallout 3 Amazon com Exclusive Survival Edition

An Amazon.com Exclusive, the Fallout 3: Survival Edition, is the ultimate Fallout 3 package that includes a life-size replica of the Pip-Boy 3000, the wrist-mounted device worn by characters in-game. The Pip-Boy 3000 has been painstakingly recreated and modified for real world display as a digital clock. In addition to the Pip-Boy 3000, the Survival Edition will include all of the items from the Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition including the Fallout 3 game, a customized, metal Vault-Tec lunch box, 5″ Vault Boy Bobblehead, The Art of Fallout 3 hardcover book, and The Making of Fallout 3 DVD.

According to Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks, “The Survival Edition offers gamers the unique opportunity to own a piece of video game history along with a collection of limited edition items – it’s the definitive Fallout 3 package.”

From the creators of award-winning Oblivion, Fallout 3 features one of the most realized game worlds ever made. Create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of post-apocalyptic Washington, D.C. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland. Prepare for the future. The third game in the Fallout series, Fallout 3 is a singleplayer action role-playing game (RPG) set in a post-apocalyptic Washington DC. Combining the horrific insanity of the Cold War era theory of mutually assured destruction gone terribly wrong, with the kitschy naivety of American 1950s nuclear propaganda, Fallout 3 will satisfy both players familiar with the popular first two games in its series as well as those coming to the franchise for the first time.

The Story: Vault 101 – Jewel of the Wastes
For 200 years, Vault 101 , a fallout shelter, has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you’ve ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

Key Features:

Our best minds pooled their efforts to produce an advanced version of Radiant AI, America’s First Choice in Human Interaction Simulation. Facial expressions, gestures, unique dialog, and lifelike behavior are brought together with stunning results by the latest in Vault-Tec technology.
  • Eye-Popping Prettiness – Witness the harsh realities of nuclear fallout rendered like never before in modern super-deluxe HD graphics. From the barren Wasteland, to the danger-filled offices and metro tunnels of DC, to the hideous rotten flesh of a mutant’s face.

For such a fantastic game, amazon has provided a fantastic edition. The PIP-Boy is just cool for us long-time fans of the series. Add to that the collectors edition with the SWEET Vault-Tec bobblehead and you have a winner. Then, once you get through all of that fan-boy goodness, you get to the game. This is what all next-gen games should be like. A HUGE open world, amazing graphics, and an excellent integration of the VATS aiming system into a FPS game. You could play nothing but this game for months and still find new areas and details everyday. If, however, you want to get the most out of the game and your playing time, I would recommend getting the strategy guide. While you can get through the main story easily enough, it really adds to the experience being able to find all of the sub-quests if you get stuck.

In addition, the 360 version now has two add-ons available via X-Box Marketplace (IMO Pittsburgh looks about the same in the game as it does now *TIC*).

Now, to be fair there are some negatives. There is the occasional glitch, but not as many as Oblivion had upon release and most are minor. Also, I miss the fun random encounters that were available in Fallout 2. I can see why this was abandoned, but they could have one group of wandering holy knights, or a bridge that needed crossing. The biggest complaint has to do with the companions. It is better just to wander around on your own than with anyone you may be able to pick up, to include Dog. They tend to just get themselves killed and end other possible storylines. Stick to the loaner path and you’ll be fine (or do what I did, recruit dog then leave him at your home, nice to have a pet to come home to, lol).

Buy it, play it, love it. Happy trails vault dweller!

5 Stars Pip Boy Concerns
I loved this package, It was awsome. Art book, making of dvd, Bobblehead, and the game. And i really loved the pip boy that icame with it. But, the batterys die really quick, not a seller problem, but a manufacturing one. But, all in all, i love it.

4 Stars A Fistfull of Caps
First of all, this is the best game ever. I’m a big fan of the whole Fallout series and this one is the best so far. I just wish I could play it with a friend. Hopefully they’ll add that in some future download. If you liked Bio Shock, then you’ll probably like Fallout 3 (unless you love first person shooters and hate role playing games).

Second, this package is expensive. The Pip-Boy 3000 “clock” is pretty cheap, as in dollar store cheap. If it were a squirt gun, it wouldn’t be your average Super-Soaker, it’d be a cheap, no-name, drug-store, made-for-toddlers, leaks-like-a-sieve, bargain-bin, piece-of-crap. It drained the batteries in a few days (I’m not sure how old the batteries were, but I had expected them to last longer). It doesn’t even have an alarm, let alone a radio, and honestly, for the price, it should have those things just like all the other $20 clocks do. At least some sound effects, for Atom’s sake! I’m much more satisfied with my Halo 3 Legendary Edition helmet (which I can’t wear and it doesn’t light up, but at least it’s got a unique number). Still, I kinda like it… the Pip-Boy… call it childish inspiration, like a Lego kit.

Also, the bobble-head isn’t nearly as good as the one I have of Kane from Command & Conquer: Kane’s Revenge. It’s almost as cheap as the clock, but more like a trade-show-freebie or a gift-store-goodie. BUT, the lunch box, art book, and DVD mini-documentary are pretty good. Sure, I “remember” my lunch box being pretty big and heavy in grade school, and this one seems small and fragile by comparison, but I’m a lot bigger now, and besides, there’s enough room in it for a sandwich and some jet (just not enough for a Nuka-Cola).

Only hard-core fans of the series and collectors should find this worth their hard earned dollars… Some may find the extras just take up space.

1 Star Awesome game, junk clock
You DO want the game – it’s great post-apocalyptic stuff! You do NOT want this bundle – the clock is shoddily made and will break as soon as you get it out of the box (mine died in a week).

1 Star They should be paying me to own this stupid clock
The Pipboy clock that comes with this set eats batteries so quickly they should be paying me to use it. It takes 3 triple-A batteries but can’t seem to stay operational for more than about a week before needing replacements. Also, the clock is a piece of cheap plastic with seams that don’t even line up correctly.

What a joke. I feel lick a sucker having paid so much for so little. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Get yourself a generic copy of the game.

Game: 5 stars

Extras: 1 star

A collection of cheap trash that is embarrassing to say that I own.

Halo 3

Halo 3 is the third game in the Halo Trilogy and the thrilling conclusion to the events begun in Halo: Combat Evolved. Master Chief returns to finish the fight, bringing the epic conflict between the Covenant, the Flood, and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax. The Covenant occupation of Earth has uncovered a massive and ancient object beneath the African sands – an object whose secrets have yet to be revealed. Earth’s forces are battered and beaten. The Master Chief’s AI companion Cortana is still trapped in the clutches of the Gravemind – a horrifying Flood intelligence, and a civil war is raging in the heart of the Covenant. It’s all been building to this — a desperate, final war that leads to a soul-shattering climax of epic proportions. Take control of Master Chief to defeat the Covenant and destroy the Flood to prevent the annihilation of the human race.

3 Stars Bungie is trying to earn an easy buck.
Bungie Studios really screwed up in Halo 3. The campaign is fun for a little bit, but then it gets redundant and boring. Secondly, the XBOX LIVE levels are not as great as Halo 2. Bungie refuses to release new maps for free like they did with their predecessors. I feel like they are just trying to make a quick way to earn a dollar. Because of that, I refuse to purchase any new Halo maps if they released them for free after a couple of months on Halo 2. I am totally disappointed in the Halo series. They were top notch two to three years ago, but they are slowly losing credibility. Congratulations Bungie (sarcasm), maybe you should focus more on public opinions rather than earning a couple more dollars in your wallet by charging for new levels that are a year old.

5 Stars great
I had bought this game when it first came out, but had traded it in. Recently though, I had a desire to play it again. When I got it and started playing, it is just as fun as it ever was.

5 Stars Great game, excellent gameplay
This Halo game being the last of trilogy, not including Halo: ODST, is a great sequel with new weapons and great maps for multiplayer. A must have game for xbox 360, there are lots of achievements and downloadable content. One of my favorite gamemodes being custom games and forge where you edit maps. Plus online multiplayer; capture the flag, slayer, griffball, team slayer, and more. The campaign was good, it had few levels but each one had missions that were somewhat long but enjoyable. Overall 10/10.

5 Stars Nice catch
The price was really good and the quality of the game was as described. My son is very happy with it.

5 Stars The best FPS multiplayer experience out there
When it comes to first person shooters, it doesn’t get any better than Halo 3. The game is relatively old now, but it’s still the most popular game on the Xbox 360. And for good reason. The graphics are excellent, the weapons are inventive, and the game just never gets old. There are nearly an infinite number of ways to play the game depending on your preferences. You can team up with friends, play a rated match to improve your rank, go free-for-all, go in teams of 2, or just play for fun in social slayer. Weapons can also be customized so that you can start the map with anything from rockets to swords to battle rifles and so on. You can also create custom maps and download new map packs all the time.

The online experience cannot be rivaled. The game is designed to be played on Xbox LIVE. I’m sure the single player is fun, but nobody that I know even messes with it so be sure to have an Xbox LIVE account because that’s where it’s at with Halo 3. Not to worry if you don’t have one — Xbox LIVE is cheap, east-to-use, and virtually lag-free 99% of the time. The fun factor and replay value of the game cannot be beaten. Even though the game is awesome, be forewarned: The multiplayer experience will raise your blood pressure on more than one occasion. If you are like me and you are angered very easily, this game will certainly push your buttons at times during the online experience. Not to fret — it’s all part of the game. Just be sure to count to 10 and breathe deep.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Good value, game’s ok, too.
I bought this game just for the guitar, basically. If you buy a wireless guitar separate it is much more expensive (which I do not understand at all). I was pre-ordering Guitar Hero:Metallica so I could not get with the controller bundled, but I was guitar-less. So looking on the compatibility chart, this guitar works with GHM, with a bonus game that sounded ok… so I played this game for a couple days waiting for GHM to get delivered and after that let it gather dust. The guitar works great!

4 Stars Awesome!
This game was my first foray into the Guitar Hero experience and I have thoroughly enjoyed it!

5 Stars Great Game…
I liked this game so much, It took a week to deliver but now I am satisfied with the quality of this product…

5 Stars Guitar Hero III Rocks
Had previously played this game with this guitar controller belonging to someone else. Bought this to have one for myself. Great game with fun replay value. Song selection is good and most are very fun to play on the hard difficulty setting.

The only problem people may encounter with this bundle is that the Les Paul controller has issues with the connections in the neck some time down the road after it has experienced wear and tear. The neck connects to the body and after a good amount of use the connection is not as secure causing one or more of the fret buttons to not register. This problem could be solved (on the old controller I played with. My new one is just fine) by pushing the two pieces back together every time the problem occurred.

The plus about this controller is that other than the connection issue it seems to be very reliable AND you can use this controller to also play Rock Band as it is compatible with that game as well unlike the first Rock Band guitar which was of shotty construction and started to break right away and was not compatible with Guitar Hero games.

2 Stars Game is fun, but guitar is horrible
There are some really fun songs on this installment of the “Guitar Hero” series, but you’re better off just buying the stand-alone game instead of the bundle, because the guitar that comes with this is a piece of junk. Unless you’re pointing the neck down toward the ground, be prepared for unexpected star power launches. Also, when you’re holding down long notes, don’t be surprised if they suddenly aren’t being held down anymore. And when you write to customer service about the worst gamer guitar you’ve ever played (and I’ve got five others), be prepared for them to ignore you. It wouldn’t be so bad if they would at least release a downloadable update to make this game compatible with the “Rock Band” guitars (like there is with “World Tour” and “GH: Aerosmith”), which are much better controllers than this.
