4 Stars Hentai
There is really no action to this game, but it’s basically a soft version of Hentai…. Not what I was expecting.

5 Stars A Fun Little Getaway For A Femme Fighters
If your looking for anything other than a little sexy pool-side fun with your favorite females from the DOA games than you’ll want to pass this over because while you get fun and surf in the sun there is not street fighting on this island paradise. I though this was a very fun game to play because if you really know what to expect from the game it won’t disappoint you, the game allows you to play any of the DOA girls from the game and so little games such as volleyball, watercraft races, water slides, playing poker or other gambling games, or just sunbathing on the beach. What I also enjoyed is that you can either play the game with the original Japanese voice cast or the English voice cast a big plus in my opinion. The graphics are great and the music they have for the area scenes are pretty good as well. The one little quest that’s a little problematic is that after a few days the original partner you get to play some of the games takes off and you have to try and befriend the other women with gifts that you can purchase from the stores and that the ladies like so that they’ll partner up with you when you ask. I know some miss the fighting like on DOA 4 but again the game info pretty much gives you the info on what the games really about so unless you just don’t read the back of the case or don’t bother to that’s the buyers fault not the makers. So with all that if your a DOA fan and are curious I say check it out you have fun and of course try out all the women after the vacation time is over(The vacation for the players is 14 days than the game concludes)….

4 Stars Great graphics, decent game
I live in Oregon, where the grey days outnumber sunny days two to one. Silly as it might sound, putting on this game gives me a dose of tropical weather that actually cheers me up, especially in the dead of winter. Seeing a bunch of babes in revealing swimsuits doesn’t hurt, either. The graphics in this game are simply gorgeous – far better than anything I have seen in any other game. Whatever shortcomings there are in the game play (and there are a lot), Ninja Gaiden did not skimp on the quality of the visuals here. How much you can appreciate this depends on the quality of your monitor; hi-def here is a must.

As for gameplay, well, it ain’t bad, but it’s far from great. Other reviewers have covered it pretty well. The volleyball feature is harder than on the previous version, with the exception of actually being able to block. The jet-ski feature is a welcome addition. It tends to get old after a while (as does this whole game), but it’s fun nonetheless. Swimsuits look really nice this time around, and “gifting” them is easier, especially if you find a list of gifts each character loves (try Googling for one – you’ll find it). The mini-games are pretty much a waste of time.

Now that you can get this game for a fraction of its original price, I fail to see how you can go wrong with this purchase, as long as you recognize that it is not a “serious” game, but is rather a casual diversion into the world of eye candy and innocuous male-centric ogling. To be honest, I look forward to a DOAX3.

4 Stars DOAX2 is an unexpected bit of sunshine
DOAX2 appears on the outside to be a chauvanistic, over-sexed game where the sole purpose is to watch each of the characters endowments sway like sentient parasites struggling to esacape and find a new, less ditzy host body.

Yes, There are boobs. LOTS OF BOOBS. And I’ll be honest. It’s why I bought the game. But, surprisingly, Team Ninja has created something here, something that is unexpectedly… fun.

There are a whole host of games to play, including super waterslides of death, pool hopping, jet-ski racing, flag dashes, blackjack, roullette, slot machines, and of course, beach volleyball.

I was surprised by the quality of the gameplay; this game controls very smoothly, from the volleyball matches to jet-ski racing. The graphics are gorgeous, featuring realistic looking environments, with water that looks so real, it makes you want to go for a swim yourself.

The story is lacking, but, storylines in a glorified minigame collection never matter.

Over all, once you get past the hyper-sexed nature of the character designs, the game is surprisingly fun, and can keep you entertained for hours at a stretch.

Parents should remember to enforce the “M” rating though, as some of the swimsuits are so skimpy, they have to be bluured on cable telvision!

2 Stars Just doesn’t work
Don’t bother. The best part of the game is the intro movie that leads up to the title screen. It goes all downhill from there. The controls of just about every game just don’t really work all that well. Trying to get these girls to be your friends is just not worth the aggrevation as they always get mad and leave you for seemingly unknown reasons. And then you need to have friends to play volleyball, so you end up stuck just lapping around a lake in a jet ski.

I will be honest in that I only gave this game about an hour of playtime. If there is more to unlock if you stick through the annoyances, I don’t know… it isn’t all that clear. But I can’t see anyone actually giving this game the time to really progress in the game.

4 Stars NICE
I bought this game for my 12 year old grandson he plays a few times a week he said it is a very good game graphics look real good also a fun game to own.

5 Stars Best basketball game there is.
I really enjoy this game. Very dynamic. Not easy to beat on the highest level, but not too hard either. Highly recommended for any basketball game lover.

4 Stars Better than the last one…
I liked this one a little bit better than the last one. But I don’t like how you still have to change the settings in terms of the strengths of the team. To me, it should automatically save, for example, the coaching setting for auto and or manual timeouts and/or substitutions. You should be able to save that once you select it but you cannot, you have to keep changing it. Also, when you create a player, why not show his face on the screen? there is always the gray shaded default. Also, I miss Kenny’s half-time show and opinions they got rid of that. I don’t like the new half time break commentation. But those are minor things compared to the game play and graphics which are awesome! I do love how when you create a player now it just asks you if you want to assign him to a team. It is not as complicated as it was before and it is easier to trade players as well.

5 Stars NBA 2k8 is great
well, the game is a very hood game. very detailed plays that you can call out, if you want to have a challenge i suggest you play on hall of fame or against a friend, but i warn you it could turn you into enemies. the dribble moves arent in the manual so you’ll have to figure it out yourself.

5 Stars Very fun game!
Enjoyable since the beginning. Very fun game, great graphics, real gameplay. Everything a good gamer would want in an NBA game!!!

Sega Superstars Tennis

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Actually suprisionally fun
I got the game for free when I got a XBox360, so it was the first game I played before buying a few more and I found it quite fun. The mini games are enjoyable and so is the actual tennis matches, good cheap game

5 Stars Sega Superstars Tennis
Fun game–my 15 year old daughter thinks the mini games are especially fun. Would recommend!

5 Stars We Really Enjoyed This – Single and Multiplayer
Sega Superstar Tennis combines a variety of tennis games with a big mix of mini-games and multiplayer games, set in the variety of worlds in the Sega Universe. It really is quite a lot of fun!

First, give yourself a little time to get used to the controls. When you hit the ball, you have to fully stop THEN hit with the spin / direction you want.

Once you get the hang of that, this game is really a lot of fun. My boyfriend was a high end tennis player in his teens, while I have never played “real” tennis. So we’re at different ends of the spectrum. We would be playing together against a pair of computer opponents and he’d be calling out for me to do something, and I’d have NO idea what he meant :)

So for me, sure I know the basics of tennis, and I could get a certain way through the games. For him, he was doing the “moving chess game” and succeeding quite nicely. The game rewards a knowledge of strategy.

There are a variety of mini-games set in the various worlds which are quite fun. We’ve played pretty much all the Sega games here, so it was a lot of fun for example to go into the Jet Set Radio world and play the minigames there. Sometimes they were straightforward – like playing tennis on a Jet Set Radio themed court. Other times they were more esoteric, like hitting tennis balls to land in the right spots on a “tag” on the other side of the court. You even have to grab the right color paint can first, and “paint” in the various letters of the tag properly.

Depending on the world you’re in, sometimes you’re gatherings rings, sometimes you’re avoiding zombies, sometimes you’re rebounding bombs. There really is a nice combination of games to play. Not only that, but in many of the games you’re really learning skills that serve you well in the main tennis games. Your skill at aiming when you hit those zombies in the head does quite nicely when you go back to take on a “regular” tennis opponent.

I think if you’ve played the Sega games then you really get an extra level of appreciation here. For example, I love Jet Set Radio. Being able to play a bunch of fun mini-games in the JSR world, with the sound, look and feel of it was quite neat. I also love how they customized each court to really use the graphic style of the world. The Jet Set Radio court has a construction-fence-orange net with little construction lights hanging on it. The Sonic net is metal chain grid. You get a waterfall net, a wood slat net, and more. All of them have fully “active” backgrounds too with appropriate spectators and environments.

Complaints? That stop-then-hit was quite annoying, they could have done better with the controls for that. Also, the ball is yellow and often blends in with the background. Especially on the water court, the ball is almost invisible.

Also, you would think that going into one of their “worlds” would mean you’re always playing “in that world” (thematically). For example when you’re in the Sonic world you’re playing on cool Sonic levels. However, when you unlock the Golden Axe world, you go in and start your minigame in … the Curien Mansion theme. It’s a bit disappointing.

Still, we are almost pretty much burnt out on sports games here, having played so many over the years, and we really did enjoy this. The graphic themes were very well done, the gameplay was fun, and the range of game options was quite nice. It’s a game that you can play with someone young or old and find something to have a good time with. You can play solo, or the mutiplayer games are great fun for friends and family. True tennis fans might find playing with little Sonic characters or Jet Set Radio dudes a bit cartooney, but really, the game does know its tennis and poses a healthy challenge.

Highly recommended!

3 Stars Virtua Sega Superstars Tennis
SEGA Superstars Tennis is bright graphically, somewhat dull in most other respects. Had it been designed for the 360/PS3 exclusively the graphics would probably have a lot more detail than they already do; it feels like it has a case of Xbox1/Wii-itis. It’s good fan service but as a game seems more like a $39.99 title. “Travellers Tales” style production values mixed with Virtua Tennis 3 controls; which isn’t a bad thing just a bit generic. Certain courses seem to have either slowdown or a slower framerate, not sure which but it’s a bit annoying. Overall the game is fun but a bit shallow, it’s basically what I expected but had hoped for a lot more I guess.

7/10 so far, better than the past couple of Sonic Team games at least.

4 Stars Challenging but worth it
I think the challenge of getting the players to react the way you want them to is half the fun. Good price.

3 Stars Too Hard / Too Easy
I started out in career mode and the first season was just too difficult and I lost match after match. As someone who knows how to play competive tennis it was near impossible to hit a winner or a passing shot. As I got better it was still hard to hit a good passing shot. After about 2 weeks of playing daily I never had one ace. I got to the point where I could beat players ranked 50 and below with never losing a game, but players ranked 50 or better was impossible they returned every one of my shots. It is a fun game that would make a great rental or if you only want a game that you plan on playing for a week or two. I finally got bored of the game and quit ranked 33rd.

4 Stars One of my favourite games for this console
Top Spin 2 has some amazing players with different sets of features. You have Federer who’s good but slow to move around, you have hewitt – who’s just a great allrounder, you have Roddick who has speed and you have this guy in a yellow or white tee called Costa. Besides some familiar names, the game really does well and has an improved 2 player playback. The computer difficulty level is just right and at hard, it can be very difficult to beat the computer sometimes but soon you will master the top spin.

One of the elementary feature of this particular version of the ever so famous, Top Spin Series, is the use of the top spin button on your stick called B. The game is touch sensitive if you’re holding a button for a tad too long or if you’re pressing a button softly, you will get the same reaction. What can be annoying about this game in due course of time is the fact that it still does not have replays on a regular basis and the graphics aren’t up to the level of football and basketball games but then Top Spin 3 was recently launched.

New features -

a) Longer rallies with more realistic ball control

b) A new well defined series of strokes

c) Better courts, more options

d) More relaxed setting for matches with lesser crowd noise

e) Top Spin 2 had a lesser of an arcade feel than Top Spin did

Now, I must remind the reader that I’m a casual gamer and I game every now and then. My xbox 360 console belongs to me but I got it just because I wanted a console so I don’t game very much. This game is well worth purchasing whether you’re a fan of tennis or not. The four player can be very cool and entertaining if you’re playing doubles although on my own console I haven’t tried it yet but I have played doubles on a friend’s and it’s fun.

Overall, worthy of adding to your collection. Can it be better? Of course, I await a “sensational” tennis game until then Top Spin 2 is my best bet.

5 Stars Great for a gaming tennis player on rainy days
If you enjoy tennis and video games, I highly recommend this game. I’m a tennis player and I love this game. The shot selection, directional control, realistic results on a stroke. More difficult shots are harder to pull off. The more time you give your player to set up the shot, the better the shot will be. As with real tennis, placement wins the point; by using good tactics and placement, you can beat higher ranked opponents. The controls are easy to learn but the more difficult/winning strokes require a deft touch and chancy timing.

My only complaints are the camera angles are not great but workable, and sometimes the simulated lighting in the game makes the ball hard to track.

3 Stars not bad
graohically very nice and all! I guess I have been spoiled by Wii! so! the gameplay is no where close to the Wii system! Sorry to be comparing but I think sports game should cannot be played on traditional controls !it takes half off the fun and the Excercise!

I would be looking for topspin for Wii! its a waste of time for PS3 or XBox 360

5 Stars Great Service
I got a bad game at first but then i told them the problem and they sent me a new one right away that works. That is why it is great service!

1 Star Bad xbox 360 game
You expect more from a 360 game. Horrible Graphics. it looks like you are playing ps1 games.

4 Stars Very fun game…
It has been a while since I have played a hockey video game, but it seems to be very well done on the 360. I picked it up for $20, so it is a lot of fun for the money.

4 Stars No poke check???
To be honest, I do enjoy this game… Why? well hell, it hockey. I love hockey. Do you?? If you don’t then why the hell are you reading this? But if you do, pick this up and play it. It’s cheap, and not to shabby. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not the best hockey game out, but in a pinch? It will do fine. You can always score in the slot.

2 Stars Waste of money
Maybe it’s just me, but the AI on the player’s team seems to be a couple notches lower than on the computer’s. This is especially true for penalties and goalies. Most often, there seems to be 5-6 penalties against AI controlled players on the human’s team in a game with 10 minute periods, and at most 1 on the computer’s side. The goalie AI is just weak, like it’s assumed that the player will use the rediculously easy goalie control feature.

Aside from these two issues, there is almost a complete lack of any franchise mode, aside from new drafts and some moderate skills excercises.
