Xbox 360 Nyko Intercooler

The Intercooler 360 is a high efficiency, snap-on cooling device Xbox 360. It increases air flow and provides extended life and reliability. Using 3 fans, the Intercooler 360 reduces heat to promote better performance from your favorite gaming system. The compact, cooling device snaps onto the back of the console, fits in entertainment centers with the 360 in a horizontal or vertical position, and turns on and off automatically in conjunction with the 360.

2 Stars Cooler
Cooler takes away power from Xbox. Sometimes creating problems with function of Xbox. The new version has a seperate plug not requiring using the power for the xbox. Recommend that cooler rather than this one.

The seller is a good seller though.

This product did not work on my sons xbox, it was a waste of money.

1 Star Caused Red Ring of Death

I purchased a new Xbox 360. Never had any problems. I decided to buy this because I heard it is important to keep the console cool. Well, I didn’t even play for half an hour after plugging this in, and in the middle of a boat race in “Dead or Alive Extreme 2″ the screen got all pixel like. I turned the console off and on and I had the three red lights. Repeatedly tried to play and it wouldn’t work.

I touched the back of the console and it actually felt hotter than usual. So I removed the piece of junk and still had the errors even after it was cool to the touch, but after about 2 hours of not playing at all, the errors were gone and have not come back since.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. It does not in any way shape or form reduce heat. On the contrary, the way it closes around the fans actually holds more heat inside, probably because the fans spin slower than the xbox 360’s own fans, and by drawing power from the 360 power supply it generates more heat there too.

I am lucky the damage was temporary. If you are reading this, for the love of your console, DO NOT BUY!

5 Stars A must buy.
The intercooler is must buy, especially since the system will eventually overheat. Too put off the red ring of death, get the intercooler.

(Note: The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena was played on Xbox 360 for this review. The game is also available for the PlayStation 3 and Windows PCs.) I’m worried about Swedish developer Starbreeze Studios, and it’s not because they make bad games. On the contrary, my second playthrough of Escape from Butcher Bay — [...]

5 Stars Really a Great System for the whole family !!
I was skeptical about purchasing a Wii at first , but after it arrived and we hooked it up and tried a few of the games i found the experience to be really fun . The Wii controllers are awesome , and easy to use for anyone . If you have children , they will love playing this system . It is a Great System for the whole family . I am an adult , and i enjoy playing it with my kids . Awesome system for a Good price !

5 Stars the wii is a homerun!
Never before have i made a purchase that i was so happy about. For children and adults, the nintendo wii provides unending enjoyment.

3 Stars The Wii is fun and Innovative to a point
I pick up a couple of this consoles for my two nephews and after watching the entire family having fun (including my mother who never lay a hand on a video game console before) I decided to get one for myself. after trying the thing at home accompanied by my girl and some friends I have to admit, the Wii still was fun. But when I try to play by myself I realize that I look like a mental patient plus I get tire of swinging my arms just for the character hit a ball.

So the way I see it the Wii is fun and innovative to a point because the technical specs are not worthy to be call next generation (looks like they just jam an improve version of the old Gamecube inside the Wii), for me it was fun to play with family and friends not when you are alone. In the contrary the way you play the games its really innovative, but to be honest it gets old really quickly.

Maybe I’m to old for this console in fact if you look at the game list, its clear that Nintendo intended this console to be for kids. I keep my Wii as a novelty or party trick if you will since I don’t use it very often.

Mean while I get my game on my xbox360 he understand that I just want to play High Definition, awesome graphics, online first person shooters and car racing games, all that while sitting in my lazyboy.

This is a good choice as a family fun game or for small kids, but for true gamers or people ages 16 to 35 this console will be a waste of time and money.

2 Stars Wii is to video games as fast food restaurants are to food.
I was initially impressed by the concept behind the Wii. Or at least I thought I was. When the “Revolution” was announced, it was presented as a true innovation, in vein of the analog stick or d-pad, which would bring a new dimension of control to games. That hype eventually fizzled to nothing, and now we are left with what we have today.

The much vaunted technology that was included in the original Wii controller is a step backwards. It doesn’t directly reflect the player’s actions on-screen as was expected after Nintendo hyped the controller incessantly. Rather than making games deeper than they had ever been before, it simply replaces button presses as a means to initiate animations. You might be wondering, “if it replaces button presses, then why is it a step backwards, instead of simply being a non-evolution? (let alone revolution)” Well, there’s one big reason why, and I’ll illustrate it with an example.

If you’ve played a video game (lets take boxing, for example) on any console other than Wii, you’ll probably understand that if you press buttons too quickly, a game might not keep up with you. If you press a button to punch once in a boxing game with a standard, motion sense-less controller, then press the same button again instantaneously, before the first animation is complete, the on-screen character will only punch once. With such a controller, this doesn’t pose a problem, since your thumb will always lie just above the button.

When playing Wii Sports boxing, however, inconsistent motion detection quickly becomes aggravating. It’s not nearly as “immersive” as Nintendo claims. If you motion to punch once, then motion to punch again too early, not only will your on-screen character only punch once, but you’ll be putting yourself at a disadvantage, since you’ll need to bring your arms back to punch again. Not only that, but it just feels jarring to see your character’s motions not reflect your own, when you expect it to work swimmingly. For this reason, you’ll probably find yourself simply “waggling” to perform actions in games, since using broader, realistic motions sometimes doesn’t work. Plus, your motions might not even register at all, considering that Wii software only recognizes a field of gestures. But this issue is minor, compared to the dearth of quality games for the system.

As a long time Nintendo fan, I’ve grown increasingly disappointed with the Wii’s library. There are some absolute gems, like Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, among the piles of rubbish, but unfortunately, they are far and few between. Feeling dejected by the lack of games on Wii, I eventually purchased a 360, and realized that I had been waiting for games for no reason whatsoever. There are plenty of games on other systems. I could compare the libraries of the three home systems available now, but I’d be wasting my time, as if you care, you could find such info yourself. Wii is the only system I’ve ever owned that’s had such a sparse selection of quality games, and the dry upcoming release schedule seems to indicate that this won’t change any time soon. I will keep my Wii, but only because I already own it and hope that there might be a few better games for it in the future, and I could use it to play old Nintendo games, not because its new games are doing me any good right now.

Even a bright spot on the horizon, the Wii Motion Plus, is bittersweet. It will finally make the Wii controller’s motion sensing more than just an inaccurate replacement for button presses, but, it won’t be released until Spring 2009, around two and a half years after the Wii was first released, and it will cost you even more money, presumably.

So, I feel the Wii is to video games as fast food restaurants are to food. The Wii, like fast food, is massively popular. The Wii, also like fast food, is relatively inexpensive. And the Wii and fast food share the distinction of still being extremely disappointing to those who have experienced anything better, even if they are seemingly a godsend to everyone else.

4 Stars Nintendo Wii
The wii is really cool and has some great games. One of my favorite games is wii sports, which actually comes with it! You can buy new channels for the wii. Overall i give it a really good rating.

BEWARE:Never put your miis in the mii parade. It erases all of your stats on wii sports.

Xbox 360 Black Play and Charge Kit

Xbox 360 Black Play and Charge Kit

Complete with a charging cable and rechargeable battery pack, the Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit is all you need to juice up your Xbox 360 Wireless Controller?even in the midst of battle.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Works on or off, but batteries got HOT
This charging cable is a USB plugin for the front of your XBOX 360.

You CAN use it when the XBox is turned off, but you have to plug in the controller first, then hit the power. The XBOX 360 then goes into the low power mode and charges in that mode.

Start a download and then powerdown…

It works great if you are going to download some large demos anyway, set the controller to charge and let it power down sometime during the night when the controller is full.

You can also buy the battery packs themselves and use them with this cord. So I only bought 1 of these and then the battery by itself to save a few bucks.

My only concern with these is that the batteries get HOT while charging. Hot enough to warp the coffee table desktop I had it sitting on at the time. It happens with all 3 of my battery packs, so it must just be the charging system they use. I now rotate all my controllers upside down (face down) while they are charging and make sure they are on a spot that has good airflow (no charging next to the TV for example).

5 Stars Works!
This thing saves a lot of money on batteries, and it works with my white controller.

5 Stars Fantastic value for the money.
This is a great little unit. A must have with the wireless controllers as far as I’m concerned. The ring of lights on the controller start spinning to alert you that the battery is getting low, plug this in and you can keep playing while the batteries are charging.

Battery life is surprisingly long, even when playing heavy ‘rumble’ games that are a big battery drain due to the vibration motors getting such a workout.

Contrary to what some other reviews have said, this WILL charge the battery when the Xbox is off. You simply need to plug the cord in while the Xbox is on, then turn it off. I do this all the time. Plug the cord in, and the red light shows it is charing the battery. Turn off the Xbox and go to sleep or just come back several hours later. (The red light at the controller end will go off when the system is off, but don’t worry about that. It’s still working) Turn on the unit and sure enough, light is green showing that charging is complete and looking at the dashboard shows a fully charged battery.

One reviewer stated that the Xbox fans will stay on if you turn the unit off with the cord plugged in. His conjecture was that it was draining the battery in the controller instead of charging it. Why would they possibly design it to do this?? (Not to mention they would surely say something about this odd behavior in the documentation!) No, the fans stay on if your Xbox is too warm when you turn it off… Much like the electric fans in many automobiles that will stay on for several minutes after turning off your car. In other words, it has nothing to do with the charge kit. It’s simply your Xbox trying to extend it’s lifespan by cooling itself down rather than letting all that excess heat hang around inside. If you ever hear the fan stay on after you turn off your Xbox, you don’t have proper air circulation around the unit.

Another reviewer stated that it is necessary to pull on the cord to disconnect the controller. Maybe I have a newer version of the play and charge kit, but the end of the cord that plugs into the controller has a large base that makes it easy to remove. No cord pulling necessary.

The only negative aspect I can think of with this unit is that the cord doesn’t have the breakaway like the standard corded controllers have. So if someone trips on the cable while it is charging, damage to your Xbox or the cable connections could result. (At least I’m assuming the corded 360 controllers have the breakaway like the original Xbox controllers had…)

1 Star This actually kills the batteries!
When I first got my 360 in 2006, I picked up 2 of these, and used them often. When I had the controllers plugged into the system with them, I noticed something.

A lot of times, after I turned off my console, the fans on the console would keep running if I had one of the play and charge kits plugged in. I thought it was just continuing to charge the controller. Little did I know, it was actually draining them.

In less than 6 months… neither of the batteries I got with the play and charge kits held a charge at all. These are bad news and a waste of money. The Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit is a much better investment. I have been using this since then and have had no problems with it at all. Not to mention it charges the batteries much more quickly.

It’s a little more expensive, but well worth it.

5 Stars Excellent!
First off, it’s wonderful to not have to change batteries out. Second, you can plug the usb cable into a computer and have it charge from there. So if you have your laptop near by, plug in the USB end to it, let it become “recognized” and poof – you’re charging without being limited by the cord.

I love my rechargeable pack. I’ll buy one for every controller I get.
