3 Stars Cowabunga, Dude!
TMNT is a fun game for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans of all ages. It is based on the most recent film and has a few clips from it in a couple of cut scenes. The story is told in comic book fashion with some great artwork before each level. Gameplay is a mix of combat and tests of agility, both of which are fantastic. It reminds me of Ubisoft’s popular Assassin’s Creed title, as the jumping and climbing animations are very similar and the combat has the same fluid look with fun combinations.

While there is plenty of replay value in this game, between trying to achieve a better score on levels, unlocking collectibles, and running through challenge courses, gameplay might not be enough to keep more experienced gamers interested in more than one play-through. Boss battles are fun, but rather simple to figure out. There are a lot of great team combinations that pair up the turtles for some really entertaining moves. However, actual co-operative gameplay is absent from this title… something that might have kept it from being a hit.

Fans of TMNT will surely enjoy the humor and voice-acting in this game. Some of the conversations get a bit repetitive, but the writing is true to the series. Older gamers will certainly enjoy a next-generation romp with these old friends and kids should also have a great time with it. It’s far from a blockbuster title, but one that deserves a play-through by anyone that’s shouted “Cowabunga” in their lifetime.

5 Stars Seven year old boys’ dream game
My son, now eight, has not yet lost interest in playing this game after nearly a year. All his friends enjoy playing it when they’re over. The comments the characters make occasionally while running or climbing or whatever are cute. Since I’m not a gamer myself I can’t say much more, but I can recommend this clean, fun game to all the parents out who might be concerened about violence — it’s very mild. I’ve even seen our teenage boys playing it, although not for long. It’s a perfect young boys’ game.

2 Stars Came up WAY short
I loved some of the older TMNT games, but this one is really sad. The graphics are alright, but that’s the only good thing to say about it. There is no multiplayer or co-op of any kind, which is unforgiveable. The really sad thing about this game is the near absence of fighting! Yes, its true. You spend most of your time climbing around and navigating the level, and occasionally–VERY occasionally-you get in a fight. But the fights are seriously lame. I just can’t believe they released this game, there really isnt’ anything to it. 15 levels of basically running around and beating up the occasional batch of punks. Easy achievements if that’s important to you, but otherwise don’t waste your time–or money.

5 Stars Great TMNT game
This game is so much fun to play. I am not sure why the reviews were so low here. I almost did not buy the game but I am glad that I did because this game is hours of fun.

3 Stars Read the comic book. put the controller down.
Mike patton. gangster hell. strange powers. even stranger controls. STILL NOT A GOOD GAME!!! How!? I had to cuddle with my virtual girlfriend in front of an old movie for TEN MINUTES till she fell asleep and I could progress in the game!!! That’s how!

4 Stars Kids loved the game, I loved the price!
Video games and kids; an expensive mix. This game was less than half the store price. My son loves it and I saved money. No brainer.

4 Stars pretty good.
Story is great as well the acting and visuals. As for replay value, its more or less.

4 Stars good choice
the game was pretty good. to be honest i expected more of it. but it had the mob type gun slinging fun witch i enjoyed but it really took to long and nothing really exciting ever happened and you expected it to be more exciting and the end of the game was kinda lame but maybe they plan on making a darkness 2. either way i enjoyed the game and for the price here on amazon it was a good choice but i will definitely trade it in to the next game stop for something new after beating the game.

4 Stars Surprisingly Satisfying
My expectations were fairly low on this game, even though it was was recommended to me by a friend. Playing through this game is turning out to be a great experience.

The story itself is so-so. The mafia-based struggle is the real driving force and plays out well. But, the whole Darkness conflict seems to fall apart the more I think about it. The Darkness can control him, but it can’t? If you don’t think about it too much, it works fairly well.

The voice acting is top notch. If the on-screen presentation of said acting was better, the atmosphere would have really benefited tons.

The gameplay is very reminiscent of Condemned, but without the crime-solving. I say this in a good way, as I don’t think there is much more they could have done to improve this aspect.

Overall, a very solid game with a lot of well polished features. There is a lot to like about this game, and the stuff I do point out is just me being over-critical of it. I thoroughly recommend this.

Is Sony better with franchises than Microsoft?

October 31st, 2008 Xbox Reviews No comments
by Ravi Sinha LittleBigPlanet 2 is already on the production belt, joining both a cartoon show and a comic book, aimed at fully expanding the LBP franchise. With PSM3 awarding it a 97%, their highest rating ever (yes, even more than MGS4) and the whole world just plain spell-bound over the new Sackboy on the block, it would appear that Sony is now on a roll. Or are they? Has LBP’s critical and commercial success, the culture hysteria it’s generated, only underscored how much fun it actually is

The Incredible Hulk review (PS3, Xbox 360)

September 2nd, 2008 Xbox Reviews No comments
Let me preface this by saying that The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was actually an enjoyable game. With that being said, it is a shame that this Incredible Hulk title is nothing like that Hulk from three years ago. There is no doubt that Stan Lee is a comic book mastermind; however, his creativity is an aspect that is lacking in this game
