2 Stars Ok game i guess…
Not nearly as fun as the other 3 in the franchise, its graphics are sub par to other 360 games.

5 Stars Likely the best since DMC 1 in my opinion!
I own EVERY DMC game. I do not know whether or not I should feel embarrassed about that. Yes I have both versions of DMC 3 (Standard and special edition) as well as DMC 2 and DMC 1.

A lot of my friends love this series. Well there is good reason to. “Dante” was introduced as a fresh new hero that could effortlessly switch between blazing pistols and an assortment of demon crafted melee weapons ranging from swords to powerful gauntlets.

However not all has been peachy in the DMC saga. DMC 2 was a step in the wrong direction. It limited Dante to using only swords and the story was so lack-luster it might as well have been written by someone who never played the first game. Sure it was fun to be Lucia but when a game suffers from boring level design and uninspired enemies the whole experience lags to a crawl.

DMC 3 was also hit and miss . Challenging is good but some parts in DMC 3 felt impossible + the environments were confusing to navigate once you made it into the tower. DMC 3 was much better than DMC 2 but it dragged on certain levels and events way too long.

With such a checkered history it was odd I felt compelled to get DMC 4 but I did. All I can say is I’m glad I swallowed my lump of fear and took a chance. This is likely the best DMC I’ve played ever since DMC 1!

As hard as it is for “fans” to let go they should mellow out in this case. It is true DMC 4 focuses around Nero more than Dante. Not much more but enough to let you know he is the story’s lead protagonist. It seems like this time capcom gave the plot a lot more consideration. While it is not Shakespeare it has lovable new characters and a conspiracy wrapped around a religious cult that seems to worship Sparda and yet that have their own sinister ulterior motives. So as to not spoil anything I will not elaborate further than that.

Honestly I was miffed Nero looked just like Dante in many ways. How many times are they going to use the “platinum haired pretty boy” mold? However Nero has his own personality and his own unique fighting style.

There are many things that set Nero apart from Dante. For one he does not dual wield and only pulls out one pistol. However he makes up for that with his “Devil arm” which creates a spectral appendage that slams and throws enemies around. Once it gets more powered up it can even grab onto objects to help Nero swing across ravines or activate certain devices which otherwise cannot be moved. Beyond that Nero’s first blade is beast! You have to rev it up like a chainsaw or car engine to increase its’ power. Luckily charging it up is not hard. Simply lightly tap on the left trigger button at a steady non frantic pace.

While Nero is not fortunate enough to start with a “devil trigger” he does earn it after a confrontation with the creepy alchemist/inventor Agnus (one of DMC 4’s lead villains). The katana “Yamato” awakens Nero’s inner devil. It should be noted there has been a bit of a change. For example a blue spectral demon appears above and around Nero when the devil trigger is unleashed but in theory he does not become a demon himself. To me it resembled the newer “Persona” games a bit. More or less Nero’s “inner self” emerges from him instead of him morphing into his inner self. (I hope that makes sense)

So what of the bosses? They are much better done. For example imagine you see two sultry and sexy ice succubi making out. You are so entranced by their girl on girl loving you do not see a large sharp toothed grin in the darkness. Suddenly to your horror a gigantic blue artic toad barrels down on you and you realize the two ice vixens are actually attached to the abomination’s twin whip like feelers. That is only one example. The designers gave 100%. However praise aside you will fight each of these baddies twice, once as Nero and once as Dante. I know that will miff certain gamers but when you think about all the articulate work that went into each boss you have to forgive them somewhat. Programmers and artists have dead lines and to create a whole new boss roster for Dante would have been an exhausting near impossible under-taking.

Now before you worry about the basic enemies fret not. They are just as odd, creepy, and innovative as the big baddies. There are flying bugs with sword like retractable tails that hide within black cloaks. You can use your devil arm to grab them and rip them out of their cloaks thereby making them more vulnerable. A jester-like cackling enemy returns only this time they are scare crows being puppeteer-ed by many smaller insects that are crawling around inside them. In one level these scarecrows get entangled by living plant enemies and fused together they are much more lethal. A variant of the “lizard man reptile brute” monster can now encase itself in ice to defend itself and hurl icicle projectiles. You will see more variants than what I have described but once again it is apparent the designers put thought and care into their creations.

Lastly there are the environments. For me I felt as if some of the areas in DMC 3 stretched out way too long or you had to back track through them too much. I hate to be blunt but all I can say about the levels in DMC 2 is on average they plain sucked. Well in DMC 4 a lot of these issues are remedied. First off you have a variety of places that include a cathedral influenced palace, a dock area, an arctic blizzard mountain side, subterranean caves, and a lush yet dangerous jungle. While there are times you have to get a power to clear something that obstructed your path earlier most of the time everything is in close proximity so you do not feel lost or discouraged. Secondly the puzzles may prove to be challenging but it is rare when these tests of intellect go beyond the realm of common sense. The most entertaining puzzle for me was hitting a giant dye around to move Nero’s hologram self to the other side of a multi colored lit up floor to unlock a barred door.

If you want to know about the characters they have many layers. This surprised me for a game that normally has a shallow supporting cast. Kyrie is a songstress that sings for the holy order of sparda. She is nero’s main love interest. Gentle and demure she may seem to be the helpless damsel clich?but I took a liking to her after she rushed some enemies in order to escort a child to safety. Sure it was Nero that slew the swarming monsters but you have to admire “courage” from someone who has absolutely no super-human powers.

Credo is what Vergil was to Dante for Nero only minus the hatred. They seem to be friendly rivals and Credo cares about Nero just as much as he does for his sister Kyrie. Though he is manipulated by the order once his sister is taken as prisoner he starts to question things. Credo is that antagonist you root for. He has good intentions but is misled. This shows us how easy it is for even good people to pick up the wrong cause or be brainwashed by religious propaganda.

Gloria is put in there just because she looks hot I guess. She is deliberately made out to be enigmatic but apparently she kills demons with finesse and even gets off on it. She works for the order yet is not trusted by the order. Regardless her boobs bounce, her cocoa skin glistens, and she has a butt strut that would make most call girls jealous. Being a hot blooded guy I do not mind seeing her jiggle and giggle. If you are a female gamer fret not. At least in DMC the impossibly good looking men in the series balance out their womanly cohorts. Actually I know Gloria’s identity and motifs but spoiling that for you my dear readers would be foul play!

Lastly there is Agnus and this is where I have to reprimand capcom for tastelessness. Apparently someone thought it would be funny to give the mad scientist type a speech impediment. Agnus stutters a lot and worse Nero acts like a typical “frat boy bully” and makes fun of him for it. This is not a good message to send out to children or adolescents. “Heroes” are not always the beautiful people and sometimes it might be the “good guy” with a disability. The ball was really dropped on this issue and I hope capcom “thinks harder” on this in the future. Capcom did not mean any harm by this but I can see how it would breed a type of superficial elitism into more impressionable minds.

Finally I’ll put misgivings aside. Yes, you can be Dante too. Is he amped up as much as he used to be? No, because Nero is the main character. However Dante IS apart of the story unlike Vergil who was playable yet detached from everything in DMC 3 special edition. The best thing about Dante is he retains his “styles” from DMC 3 and can switch between trickster, royal guard, gun slinger, and blade master with the mere press of a button. To me dispatching enemies was just as easy with Dante as when I was Nero though certain people might feel differently.

In closing DMC 4 does almost EVERYTHING right. If you are worried rent it before buying but in my opinion this game exceeded my expectations and made me love the DMC franchise all over again!

Pros

+Familiar faces make a return.

+ Nero is very fun to use

+Dante is important to the story and playable

+A good plot which was lacking in other installments.

+Lovable new characters which are more 3 dimensional than certain supporting cast members in the past.

+Wonderful environment design with much variety.

+Bosses and enemies are a guilty pleasure to fight and very creatively portrayed.

+Area puzzles are a bit challenging but can easily be surpassed by the use of common sense.

+Good voice acting and great sound track!

Cons

-While the back tracking no longer feels as monotonous is still exists.

-Most bosses have to be fought twice, once as Nero and once as Dante

-Making fun out of disabilities is not cool capcom. I know you meant no harm by giving Agnus a stuttering problem but remember some younger players are very impressionable. As I said before it is not always “the beautiful people” that are the good guys. Try mixing it up in the future.

3 Stars Devil May……Backtrack alot!!!!
I had high hopes for this “Next Gen” version of Devil May Cry, and on visuals and fun it does not fail. The new character Nero is a blast to play as and Dante is fun as always and also bring a new toy with him Pandoras Box which is also awesome. The levels and bosses are done rather well despite one big problem, most of them you have to retraverse through the levels as Dante and fight the same bosses, are you kidding me? But that is by far my biggest gripe about the game as it is filled with all the Devil May Cry goodness that were in the other games.

If you like action games and don’t mind back tracking and fighting the same bosses (Nero and Dante do control a bit differently than one another making fights a little less repeatitive) then I say pickup this game, cause it is a solid action game.

5 Stars Worth it
Very worth while Special Edition, you get the OST,art, videos and other nifty stuff on the bonus disc, and you get 4 eps of the Devil May Cry series that’s worth a good chunk of money. And of course you get the game, which is possibly the best Devil May Cry game yet, faster, more weapons, combos and styles an a new character that plays very different from Dante (or Vergil from DMC3). Difficulty is right up there with the first and 3rd one, (Important: the DEMO was on the easy mode!) they made a new bloody palace that is far harder than the others. If you’re going to get DMC4, get the CE, it’s got enough included to actually be worth getting.

5 Stars Immerse Yourself in A Gothic Fantasy!
I bought this collector’s edition game as a gift for my son. He’s 16 and he LOVES it! He has the entire series of this game and has enjoyed them all.

In this game, The Devil May Cry 4, they have brought back old characters as well as new. If you’re a fan of the older games, you’re sure to love this one as well. But, if this is the first game you’ve bought in this series, you can still jump right in and have fun. It’s not like you need to know much of the past to play.

A Blend of familiar and new characters: newcomer Nero clashes with vetern Dante plus there are appearances from Trish, Lady and a few others from the DMC series. Various new characters and enviornments make the play level better than ever.

Nero easily charges up his sword with a throttle effect, revving up to three levels with powerful and unique attack options. New “Devil Bringer” arm opens up a range of never seen before combo options.

The games itself is beautiful and the graphics are amazing! The collector’s edition did come with a few items that the regular game did not. I believe the extra items include Volume 1 of ADV Film’s Devil May Cry – The Animated Series on DVD, Making of Devil May Cry 4 bonus DVD, soundtrack, artbook, PC extras and special steelbook case ESRB Rated M for Mature.

The “steelbook case” is a nice heavy-metal case with a plastic protection slip cover. It’s a really nice package and my son has been having a great time with it this weekend and he’s definitely a serious gamer! This game has a “gothic” feel. A great game that you are sure to get lost in!

I would highly recommend this game as well as the rest of this series!

(This is a one-player game)

Two Worlds Collectors Edition

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Two Worlds
This game surpasses any expectations I had. I had been devoted entirely to Fable, but this game is simply ADDICTIVE! I have developed a nasty habit of staying up sometimes all night playing this game! Usually I spend at least 5 hours solid. BUt it is never the same game twice and full of quests and challenges. I love it!!

1 Star worst Xbox 360 game I have ever played
Even though it got terrible reviews on the advice of many people who claimed it recieved an unfair rap, I picked up Two Worlds Collectors edition.

It is the worst 360 game I’ve ever played Even with the patch it runs like with crap with stuttering and slowdown. I tried installing it to my HD, but it didnt help. The faces look terrible as well. The dialogue makes me ill. The interface is a direct rip from the PC and is horribly cumbersome to use on the box. The text is small and bleary even in HD.

I got killed by boars and wolves and maybe some rocks too.

The collectors edition is also terrible. I bought it because I heard you get special codes for collectors edition only weapons. But apparently thats just for the PC version. So all you get is a crappy box worse then the regular edition box, a paper map, a tiny tabletop rpg book nobody will actually play and a behind the scenes DVD with no actual behind the scenes, just random crappy gameplay videos.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME

4 Stars Good-Not Great But Good…
the game had some flaws. i think we all know that by now. the graphics, the story was fair, not as good as Oblivion but it was ok and the voice acting (which by the way, what everyone else says about it is true, you will seriously be laughting until your eyes water and your jaw hurts) but lets look at the bright side you can up grade skills, i personally had two characters a mage and a warrior.. but you dont go by classes thats just what i call em… lots of spells lots of weapons lots of armour… which is cool.. cuz the robes in Two Worlds actually give you bonus points and armour protection unlike Oblivion and you can actually use a staff (to hit and kill people unlike in Oblivion) which i think is a very important part to any Mage/Wizard… basically i own the game like the other dude said tho their arnent many people online but somedays thier there will be a good few… id say at the price that amazon has it listed right now… go ahead and buy it… if i could go back i would have waited and bought it now i mean $34.99 thats a great deal…

3 Stars Surprisingly good
Though the graphics are underpar and there are alot of slow-down issues, this game is surprisingly fun and entertaining. Though somewhat similar to a Game called Oblivian, the combat is alot more fun.

3 Stars Two Worlds
The game is fun enough and the shipping was quick. Very appreciative of all the work you guys have done to get my stuff here quickly. Thank you.

5 Stars BEST GAME EVER!!!
All i got to say is that this game is one of the best games ever…it has like infinate game time and faaaaa just get this and sit down “medicate” (legal californians would get it), and just explore the capitol wasteland!!!

5 Stars Amazing game, amazing bundle
Came when they said it would and in great condition. The game is a lot of fun and takes A LOT of time. Which is good.

5 Stars 200 + hours and loved it
OK, I bought this game knowing nothing about the series. It took me some time to get into the game and the gaming system. Maybe 10 – 13 hours of play. However, once I got in to it, I totally got hooked.

I played this game on my Mac Book Pro running in Boot Camp. I had to reduce the graphics but even so, the play was smooth and fun. I really enjoyed the different ways to customize my character. I played start to finish 3 times and finished all but 2 (or 1?) of the goals in the game.

I only have two complaints: 1. the game has an ending and you cannot play after that ending. 2. the max level is 20, which will affect how you build your character.

I managed to finish many quests in very different ways. I found cool weapons and learned to manage my inventory weight pretty well. I did find that with a little work, it was pretty easy to make money irrelevant.

Overall this is an expansive game with a lot of fun. There are some very tough characters and generally stealth is rewarded.

I was surprised just how much I got into this game.

Oh, and I was traveling between the US and Europe a few times while I was playing this game. I logged about 20 hours at 30K feet.

5 Stars Awesome game but wait for GOTY edition.
Game is awesome all around. You will spend countless hours free roaming and side questing. This is just friendly heads-up. The Game of the Year edition will have the 2 available now and 2 soon available contents included in its price. Each of the DLC’s cost $10. They are worth it but if you can wait a lil bit you could get a real good deal.

Anyway the game is epic in it’s scale. It’s a first/third person shooting RPG.

I can give you my Stamp of Approval on this one and i’m not a turn based RPG fan at all.

5 Stars The game that keeps on giving
I actually have already played Fallout 3 before purchasing it from Amazon. I rented it for 10 days from blockbuster and wasted most of my life (44 hours) during that time. After I wasted that time, I realized how fun the game was, but I was afraid that it would quickly become boring if I were to try to play it again. I was wrong. The second time I played it, I started a new character and I played it by going down the “evil” path of the game. The game seems almost brand new. I have already put another 12 hours on it (school is busy so I haven’t had too much time to play it) and it hasn’t become boring at all.

I highly recommend it; however, if you are looking for just a first person shooter, this may not be the game for you. It is an RPG game in every sense of the word, but it uses FPS elements. Amazing game, but if you are looking for a fast paced, online first person shooter, I would suggest the Call of Duty series.

A good compass: if you liked Oblivion, you’ll LOVE this game.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great game and price
I bought this game for my boyfriend, but I enjoy playing it as well. There is a little something for everyone. I had to get it when I saw it on Amazon for such a low price and it arrived in excellent condition.

4 Stars Good but it could’ve been better
the overall rating of this game is very good but, it could’ve been better, if you’ve played the elder scrolls before you will surely know what I’m talking about. You don’t have levitation!!!! that’s a no go!!!! fast travel makes the game short!!! there’s only few cities that you can discover and go around, you get older quick and few other stuff. The game is very good but not how I expected, if morrowind had xbox 360 I would rather play morrowind!!

5 Stars Incredible..
This game is a masterpiece. Between my other favorite game (Mafia, PC) this game comes right next to it. Well worth $60 for a game that never ends. Everything about this game was perfectly developed and thought out. Im praying they make another Elder Scrolls. Id be all over it, period.

5 Stars Forget about reality…
…because life as you know it will be replaced by this mammoth of a game. It’s seriously one of the largest games ever conceived. Also, it happens to be one of the best which is why so many months will be dumped into exploring this masterpiece. This the limited edition of the game which is one of the nicest collections I’ve seen in gaming releases. A cool, thick outer sleeve encases a “lord of the rings” book-style disc holder. It’s done nicely to look like an ancient relic. Beyond a game disc lies a bonus disc with a documentary and other goodies. In the sleeve on the right side hides the regular instruction manual and fold-out paper map. The left sleeve contents are more interesting…a pocket guide to the empire which has a pseudo-leather cover. If that isn’t awesome enough…no lie, a real metal coin (septim) made to the specifications of the in-game coin or septim. REAL METAL!!! I tried as hard as I could to bend/ brake it!
So, on to the game. It’s amazing. It’s not without flaws but with so many pros …they kinda negate the cons. So, I’ll get those outta the way.
Cons*
Glitchy!!! There are sooooo many glitches in this game. I haven’t encountered any that crash the game but you might get angry when a random situation causes an unheard of glitch that makes you have to load your last save up. Hint: save often! Combating this complaint of glitches is the fact that this game is MASSIVE. Not just in scale but in amount of quests and options and customization. It gets ridiculous at points. Just the way it should be. Never too many options.
The only other con I could conjure sounds like whining in hindsight. There are some fine-tuning issues that I won’t even elaborate on cuz its embarrassing and proves me to way more of nerd that I even want to admit to being.
The pros*
Everything else. Seriously. Music. Graphics. Gameplay and mechanics. The mood and plots for the quests are unbelievable. I still can’t believe how much they into this game. The fact that almost every interaction was preconceived is astounding. Simply put – if you don’t already own this game go buy it. Now. I can’t say enough good things about this game. I could go on & on for hours but if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to playing it.
p.s. No joke. I’m loading my game up right now.

5 Stars Best Game Ever.
This is the best game ever period. The extra’s with the collectors editions are great, the pocket guide similar to the Baulders gate one is very well made and detailed with tons of information. The bonus disc and “Septium coin” are great additions to the package. A perfect 10/10.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Great game
I wish it was longer. I know its the longest to date but the game was so good that i couldnt put the controller down.

5 Stars NFS-Carbon review
I have played some of the older games from past generations which were good. This one is entertaining, Im not really into arcade racers more of the sims (waiting for Forza 2)but the whole reason I got this game is because my car is in this video game. Other than that it’s pretty fun.

5 Stars Need for speed Carbon Collectors Edition
It is a great game and we got wonderful fast delivery. No problems with the game and package was perfect. Thank you.

4 Stars Live Actors in CG environment for story
NFS Carbon is another fun and exciting game by EA. It continues where NFS Most Wanted left off. NFS Carbon is all about turf wars. IT has the best graphics. The graphcs are better then all of the other NFS games. You can access “XBOX LIVE MARKET PLACE” where you can buy parts or cars. not to mention the Collector’s eddition comes with all the “goodies” you are going to need for online play. So if you are a fan of NFS series you will surely find this game worth playing.

1 Star The biggest Need for Speed Let Down
I finished the game a mere 8 hours after purchasing it. May be more fun online but the storyline part of the game is way to short. And it seems as the higher you get the worse your car’s handling becomes. Blacklist was ten times better and Underground 2 was 5 times better. There are a decent amount of cars and customization but the gameplay is really lost in this one. The idea for Carbon Canyon was good but I find that there are certain aspects of the canyon that are just stupid. If you skip a race and come back to it later they still have the same car and if you are driving a Lamborghini you can not overtake them. And they never crash off the cliff and you cannot make them crash. When playing in co op mode half the time in the upper levels my team-mates cost me races by stopping in front of me or by taking short cuts that get me hit by other cars or the short cut slows me down. The game is only 10% of what it should be.
