4 Stars Cool Controller
I purchased this as a christmas gift for my boyfriend. The controller is stylish and functional just like a regular corded Xbox 360 controller. The logo looks great on it and is very glossy. The only draw back is that sometimes the controller causes the xbox 360 to run slowly….like the game is trying to catch up with the controller. It only does is with this controller so it’s not the xbox 360. Maybe the brand has something to do with it Mad Catz. I’ve always had this kind of issue with this brand…dated back to my Sega dreamcast days. I wish microsoft would make the logo controllers. I know that it would work perfect. Otherwise that small detail the controller is fine.

5 Stars nice product
i purchased this in december and have absolutely no problems with it …. in fact i enjoy this better than the wireless ones (dont have to worry about batteries or the battery cover becomming loose as happened to me with to wireless contollers) i would recommened this for sure

Rock Band 2 X360 Drum Set

Unleash the power of rock-and-roll drumming with the Rock Band 2 Drum Set. It has the same features of the previous set, but with metal reinforcements on the foot pedal, velocity sensitive pads and expandable slots for cymbals.

4 Stars Unreliable, especially if you play HARD or EXPERT
Bought one kit from Amazon, and it worked fine for about 5 songs. Then in the middle of a song, it disconnected from the Xbox. Only the buttons (not the actual pads) work fire drum strikes. This could only be resolved by pulling out the batteries and reinserting. I returned it to Amazon within a few days.

** Also to note, if you have the first gen “Roadie” drum pedal it won’t work with this kit without a circuit board level modification.

Second set, almost the exact same issue (now when it disconnects, only the blue and green pads go out#. Researched all over for a fix, tried many #most people think it’s related to the battery compartment design, however I’ve found at least one instance where someone had the same issue using a “direct current” fix), none have worked for me so far.

Apparently there are two versions of this drumkit, both models I had were “SL” (the more problematic according to Harmonix boards). I also have the cymbal add ons, which suprisingly will still work when half the pads disconnect? Very odd.

Speaking of which, here’s plenty of reading as to why you should really think twice before buying these (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22922), and note, these issues affect both the XBOX 360 and PS3 platforms (which leads me to believe it’s a core drum design issue). Also note, NO ONE from either EA or Harmonix have even commented anywhere in this 100+ (and growing) message thread.

Buyer beware.. I feel like I threw 80 bucks out the window (we use the RB1 pads 100% of the time now). I REALLY love this game, but this experience has definitely left a bad feeling towards it for me.

2 Stars average
it’s a big improvement over the stock Rock Band 1 kit to be sure, but my unit shipped with a bubble in the red pad… and stuff like that isn’t isolated at all so expect to be jerryrigging your kit in the first week.

the pads are good and don’t drop as many notes as RB1… but as an expert player I’m planning on getting new pads from goodwoodmods soon to completely eliminate dropped notes.

pedal is sturdy and will stand up to all abuse.. but it’s a piece of crap and you’re fighting the spring the entire time. It’s simply not good for quick double hits or long play sessions on Hard/Expert at all. I’ll also be replacing that soon with either a Destroyer Pedal or Rock Pedal. The Pedal is definitely the weakest part of the kit for me.

My base is not sturdy at all, I feel like the RB1 kit had an advantage in that area, I guess you could probably just pop the RB2 kit onto the old base if you wanted…. but it’s probably just my kit that’s messed up. My right support doesn’t hold it’s position, and it never really did… I’m usually lifting the kit after every 5 or 6 songs.

the bottom line is, unless you’ve got the money to get an Ion, you need to get this kit just to have a leaping off point… you can’t improve a non existent kit.

3 Stars Pedal still sucks
I have had the new rock band 2 drum kit for about 5 months, not a lot of time on it, and the pedal broke similar to the rock band 1 foot pedal. Near the pin at the base of the pedal. Also the rubber covers on the pads are “bubbling up” they have not broke yet, but the center is a air pocket under the rubber cover, this creates a loud pop when you hit them, due to air in the pocket being compressed.

Any one else seen this issue? have a fix. I fixed the rock band broken pedal but screwing a peice of metal on top of the break to reenforce it, it has worked fine since.

The thing that is sad to me about this product is, it is not really that much better then the first set. I did get it due to the yellow pad on the first set cracked inside, so i had to replace it. But with the rubber cover on the 2nd version bubbling up, i fear this one will break as well.

1 Star I Like Rock Band One (1) Drum Set Better
I was excited to upgrade my drums. I was looking forward to a more precise and quieter drumming experience.

Many of the things written in the positive reviews DO apply, however, for me, they are all rendered moot by the following:

I went through two brand new sets of these drums and got the same thing – I am, somehow, “overhitting”. Use Rock Band One drum set and I get 100% on a song without a broken streak. Switch to the Rock Band Two drum set, and I get 100% on the song, but with CONSTANT broken streaks. Now, why when I hit ONE note it is sometimes registering as TWO could be a matter of debate. All I know is that I do not have this problem AT ALL with either my original or my replacement Rock Band One sets.

5 Stars Still not perfect
Bought this drum set as a replacement for the orginal Rock Band drum set, which by the way only lasted 2 months, and I am not impressed much by this one either. It works just fine, but the blue pad sounds different from the other three. Almost like it is cracked, but I can not see any damage. The yellow sounds off also, but in a different way. It looks like there is not much quality control at the manufacturer. A good point about this set, the Rock Band 2 drum kit (standalone), is that the sound is a little bit softer that the first set, but it is still way too loud overall. Would I buy another one of these, NO. I would rather save up and buy the ION drum set, or some other set. I do enjoy playing RB 1 & 2, and the GH games. No problems with the games, just the drums.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Reliable yet slightly disillusioned
This product works GREAT! It recharges and lets me play without giving me lag or trouble. The only negative hit on it is that I bought it with the understanding that when I plug it in, I can turn my controller from wireless to wired. Using this thought, I thought maybe I might be able to use my wireless remote to play my games on my computer too. Unfortunately, when I plugged it in, it did not work. The wire is only used to charge the remote. I still have to get the wireless adapter to be able to use it on my computer. I thought that just by plugging it in, I could use it like a regular remote control. Oh well. At least it recharges when it’s attached to my computer.

3 Stars Charge time is too slow
Since this charger charges via usb the charge time is a little slow, you can conect the cable to a computer or charge it y while you play…

I didnt give it five stars or four because i never seen completly charge, never seend the light of the cable turn green or turned off…

The battery can lats like a week charged playing two hours daily, if it was me i would pay alittle more and go for the XBOX 360 QUICK CHARGE KIT that can cahrge teo batteries at once…

also agood thing of the play and charge kit it comes with a batterie

4 Stars Not exactly as advertised, but still a good purchase
First of all, despite what it says on the packaging, you will NOT get 25 hours of play on one charge; more like 5 or 6. Second, the charge indicator is inaccurate and inconsistent: sometimes it’ll say it’s full when it’s actually almost dry, and other times it’ll say it’s running low when the charge is actually okay.

Not that it’s too big of a problem, because when the controller is actually running low on charge, the lights around the Xbox Guide Button will begin flashing. As you’re playing, you’ll notice the flashing lights out of your peripheral vision. That’s when you pause your game, look down at your controller, and see it’s crying for more power. You simply plug the cord into either USB port on the 360 and you’re set! The light on the charger will be red as long as the controller is still charging, and when it turns green you know it’s full.

Overall, I’m very happy with my charger and it’s already paid for itself in all the money I’ve saved in not having to continuously buy more batteries. If you have a cordless controller, this product is pretty much a must-have.

1 Star This actually kills the batteries!
When I first got my 360 in 2006, I picked up 2 of these, and used them often. When I had the controllers plugged into the system with them, I noticed something.

A lot of times, after I turned off my console, the fans on the console would keep running if I had one of the play and charge kits plugged in. I thought it was just continuing to charge the controller. Little did I know, it was actually draining them.

In less than 6 months… neither of the batteries I got with the play and charge kits held a charge at all. These are bad news and a waste of money. The Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit is a much better investment. I have been using this since then and have had no problems with it at all. Not to mention it charges the batteries much more quickly.

It’s a little more expensive, but well worth it.

5 Stars Happy with the Play and Charge kit!
The Play and Charge kits kick the crap out of using batteries. If you don’t have these buy two now! Unfortunately, the 360 only has 2 USB Ports so buying more than 2 is useless. Enjoy though!

5 Stars Useful and Cheap
Saving is what calls out the most in this product, specially nowdays, when we’ve been talking about saving nature from chemicals.

5 Stars If you have an Xbox 360 Elite, you’re going to need 2 or more of these
This is a given, if you own an Xbox 360, buy these battery packs. I know we can complain how they should come with the system, and having to purchase them is a ripoff. Seeing how Sony’s controller comes already with a rechargeable battery within it. However, unlike the shameless ripoff that is the $180 Xbox 360 120GB hard drive, the $12 price for this handy item isn’t so bad.

For me, I usually replace them once a week, and I’m a moderate gamer. It has no effect on my gaming though, cause it only takes an hour or 2 to charge on the charger, also sold separately. They are easy to swap in an out, just a click and swap. As far as longevity, we have had the white ones since the first Xbox 360 came out. Meaning, we have never had to throw any of these out in two plus years. Just imagine the cost of batteries, and the impact on environment that would have if you chose not to get this. Sorry to get preachy, we live in Portland after all.

5 Stars It’s pink.
Not much too say other than it looks better than a white or other color battery in my granddaughter’s controller.

5 Stars This is a good accesory
If you whant to keep playing and you dont wahnt to ahve lots of old batteries liying around this is worth every penny…

If you play a lot yull need this accesory

5 Stars A Must Have For X360 Players
